Strategic review of CVRT System underway

The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is engaging in a strategic review of the Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness Testing (CVRT) System.The review, which will be conducted by BearingPoint will consider a number aspects of CVRT including: assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the current testing arrangements in relation to road safety, quality and consistency of testing, service quality, and the accessibility of the existing network for customers.

The review will aim to identify improvements needed in the system to deliver on the RSA’s road safety strategy, will consider enhancements required in the future, due to EU regulations, technological advancements etc and look at options for future delivery of CVRT services.

The success of this review is dependent on the input of all CVRT stakeholders.

Therefore, BearingPoint is offering opportunities to provide feedback: If you are a commercial vehicle owner /operator, you are invited to respond to a survey:

Bearing Point will be hosting public consultations, to which anyone is welcome to attend.

Attendees will be given the opportunity to provide feedback on the above areas to the project team.

These will be taking place at the following:

·        16th of July: Great National Hotel, Limerick. 6.30 p.m. – 8.30 p.m.

·        17th of July: Westgrove Hotel, Naas. 6.30 p.m. – 8.30 p.m.

·        18th of July: Clayton Hotel, Sligo. 6.30 p.m. – 8.30 p.m.
