O’Donovan Waste Disposal recognised at Motor Transport Awards
Held in London, the glitzy event again recognised the great and the good of the commercial vehicle, transport and logistics sectors.
Having left his native County Cork in Ireland with ambitions of starting a business, O’Donovan (Waste Disposal) Ltd was started in its earliest form by Joe O’Donovan in 1959. Tragedy struck when Joe died suddenly at the age of 51, leaving his young family to take control of the business. All four siblings worked together to keep the company going.
They are passionate about our industry and have taken several initiatives, driven by commitment and support from the top management and staff, to reduce their carbon emissions and introduce better environmental practices, contributing to O’Donovan’s becoming a greener business. This is reflected also in their FORS Gold Standard achievement and our award for ‘Green business Innovators’ presented by Middlesex University.
Their operation is growing continuously and in 2016, it expanded into a brand new waste processing facility in Wembley to expand on their four depots in North London. With its 24/7 licence, this site enabled them to handle more materials than ever before.
