Record-breaking quarter for VW global van sales
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has enjoyed its strongest first quarter ever, with global deliveries up almost 10 per cent.
The company delivered 125,600 LCVs since the start of the year, with European markets accounting for the bulk of volumes.
VW LCV sales in Western Europe hit 87,600 in Q1, up 13.3 per cent on the previous year (77,350), while in the German market registrations jumped 15.8% to 32,700. Spain was a good example, where VW LCV sales were up 51.2per cent to 4,800 units.
T series vans were the brand’s biggest seller globally, with 49,100 units sold (+21.3%), followed by the Caddy with 40,000 sales (-6.3%), Amarok with 18,900 sales (-4.3%) and the Crafter with 17,600 registrations.
