Standox expands CV primer range
Standox has launched a new zinc chromate free 2K wash primer for commercial vehicles and buses – the new Standofleet Reaction Primer Pro U2620.
As a robust primer, its special benefits include quick and easy application and reliable corrosion protection – especially on large surfaces.
From January 22, 2019, a new EU directive on the use of chromium VI compounds will come into force. The new Standofleet Reaction Primer Pro U2620 achieves very good corrosion protection and excellent adhesion through the use of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) and works completely without chrome.
It has been formulated to be used in conjunction with two different activators: Standofleet Activator U2540 and Standofleet Activator slow U2625. Any filler from the Standofleet range can be applied after 30 to 60 minutes of air drying.
“The new Standofleet Reaction Primer Pro U2620 not only meets the requirements of the European Chemicals Regulation, but also its application is just as quick and easy as all other products in our Standofleet range. This was a key aim during the development of the product,” says Kevin Welling, Training Academy Manager for Axalta Coating Systems in the UK and Ireland.
Primers play a key role in the durability of vehicle paint. For commercial vehicles and buses, the primer is even more important because they are often exposed to higher mechanical stresses in everyday use compared to passenger cars.
