Conti embedding TPMS sensors in HA3 tyres for buses

Continental tire the Americas has upgraded its Conti Coach HA3 line of radial tyres for motor coaches/buses with embedded tyre pressure management system (TPMS) sensors in a move to promote digital tyre monitoring among bus fleets.

Paul Williams, executive vice president, commercial vehicle tires, the Americas said: “Continental is committed to being a technology leader, delivering increased safety and providing the lowest overall driving cost to our fleet customers.”

Conti claims using digital tyre monitoring technology, such as its ContiPressureCheck and/or ContiConnect Yard systems helps fleets experience better tyre performance as tyre-related breakdowns are reduced, eliminate manual tyre pressure checks, as well as improved fuel efficiency and potentially up to 25 per cent longer tread life.

Conti said embedding sensor technology into its tyres is part of its “Vision Zero” policy—zero fatalities, zero injuries and eventually zero accidents in motor transport.
