Ceramex shows a cleaner way

Ceramex, a leading supplier of Diesel Particulate Filter cleaning and refurbishing, has developed patented technologies to aid the inspection and cleaning of DPFs, which it will exhibit at the show.

It recently signed a service supply agreement with Halfords Autocentres, giving customers of the national MoT and vehicle service centres the option to take advantage of its services. The firm provides DPF remanufacturing services to companies such as Isuzu, Scania, Iveco, DAF and Volvo, and can clean the filters fitted to passenger cars as well as light and heavy commercial vehicles.

The build-up of soot and ash increases the back pressure in the vehicle exhaust system and can increase fuel consumption by up to seven percent, but the Ceramex inspection and cleaning service improves fuel consumption, provides longer intervals between cleaning and reduces component failures. Ceramex can also provide an inspection image of the cleaned filters to demonstrate its efficacy.

Marcus Beament, Head of Sales at Ceramex said: “The DPF is one of the most expensive service items on the vehicle and it is critical that cleaning and inspection are performed to the highest professional standards. Over time, cheap alternative cleaning methods can often lead to costly replacements, vehicle downtime and increased fuel consumption.”
