KYB Europe has launched an innovative new mobile application (App). The KYB Suspension Solutions App is designed specifically for technicians and can be easily customised by each garage using it. It is available to download for free from the App store and Google Play. The App has two functions:
Part 1 is to help the technician explain to the motorist what issues have been identified with their vehicle’s suspension and which components need to be replaced. It sends the driver a text message with links to video clips which explain the dangers and risks associated with worn shock absorbers, coil springs, mounting and protection components.
Part 2 is for showcasing the completed repair which a garage has carried out on a customer’s vehicle. It can send a text message to the driver with a before and after photo of the work carried out.
The App was developed following a detailed pan-European market research study with technicians, and it is designed to directly address a number of issues raised, including effective communication with the motorist and the need to better explain the safety critical role which shock absorbers, coil springs, mounting and protection components play on a vehicle.
