Northern Ireland based readers will be interested in the news that the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) will launch a new Dynamic Purchasing System for Vehicle Conversion services on August 24, 2017, and applications are now open.
Vehicle Conversions DPS is a replacement for CCS’s Vehicle Conversion and Reconditioning Services Framework (RM956). The new Dynamic Purchasing System will allow unlimited numbers of suppliers to sign up for access to public sector opportunities, and involve less labour-intensive design and application processes.
The DPS makes use of existing systems for supplier registration and completion of selection questionnaires, allowing suppliers to reuse their company information for future applications and self-certify their status until the point of contract award.
The first DPS is for Vehicle Conversions. This DPS allows you to register to provide your vehicle conversion services to Crown Commercial Services. This DPS includes conversion services such as fire and rescue, grounds maintenance, health and safety, livery, medical vehicles, security, welfare, and waste management.
It will help public bodies to make savings when converting vehicles for operational use. This ranges from simple vehicle signage or internal storage, to full conversion into emergency vehicles or specialist communications equipment.
They can use an online search function to identify suppliers offering services and specialism they require. Search filters include geographic location (of the customer), customer sector, vehicle type, service types (including conversion, decommissioning and design), and detailed products.
