DAF unveiled new versions of its most popular CF and XF trucks at the CV Show. The new models have improvements of up to 7% in fuel consumption, updated interior and exterior design, lower weight and better aerodynamics.
“Building on the excellent reputation for fuel efficiency, reliability and driver comfort the current Euro VI product range has earned in Europe, DAF has developed a new generation of CF and XF trucks offering the best possible solutions for both the customer and the driver,” said Preston Feight, President, DAF Trucks.
Both new trucks will go on sale this year and feature an extra 100kg payload thanks to the reduced gross weight, with 200,000km service intervals.
Driver comfort is improved with the addition of a new automatic HVAC system, which also contributes to fuel efficiency as the new smart controlled air-conditioner only cools air as much as is needed to reach the desired temperature. It also uses residual heat from the engine for heating the cab during short breaks.
The instrument panel has been redesigned with an enhanced Driver Information Panel includes a tachograph countdown, displaying remaining driving and resting times.
The new CF and XF will enter production in the summer of 2017 in 4×2 tractor (FT) and rigid (FA) configurations, the 6×2 tractor FTG and FTP with pusher axles, and the 6×2 rigid with single mounted trailing axle (FAR). Other configurations will follow in autumn.
