Group247 introduces wide range of reputable brands
For more than 60 years the Irwin name has been synonymous with the automotive aftermarket. The family run business was established in the 1950’s and in the intervening years there has been a steady rise in both reputation and workforce, with the company name evolving to reflect changing times and markets.
Since 2011, the company has specialised and grown into a leading supplier of LED Lighting in Ireland; namely 247Lighting.
With a highly successful brand and expansion into the UK and European market, the time is right for a new venture for the Irwin entrepreneurs.
This month sees the launch of Group 247, a distribution service, which will introduce a wide range of reputable brands to the Irish aftermarket. While 247Lighting will remain the anchor brand, Group247 will also distribute brand giants such as Absaar (Battery Chargers), Vital (Sealants and Fluids), PCL (Fittings), ABA (Hose Clamps), Zollex (Chemical Sprays) and Rapro (Rubber Hosing).
Extensive market research has been carried out to ensure that these brands offer the best that the market demands. A high emphasis has been placed on sourcing value for money products, which will garner a positive reputation for the company going forward.
In addition, Group247 is launching an an exciting range of brands developed in-house. 247Electrical (Electrical Accessories), 247Safety (Cameras and Mirrors), Mighty Stuff (Industrial Cleaners) and Stark (Seat Covers) will all be rolled out in the coming weeks. These brands have been specifically developed based on customer demands and offer high quality alternatives to the Irish consumer.

Despite this progression into new markets, 247Lighting remains the stalwart of the Group247 franchise. The lighting range has grown from strength to strength since its’ inception in 2011, offering a wide range of beacons, lightbars, tail lights, work lamps and warning lights.
All products are designed and tested to comply with ECE standards. Furthermore, a focus on high IP ratings ensures waterproof and dust resistant features, increasing product longevity. Recently a new range of rotating light bars, compact tail lights, lead lamps and flood lamps complete with speakers have been added to the product line. All additions can be viewed in 247Lighting’s new catalogue which is now available.
Group247 is also getting ready to launch its new website. Speaking on this topic, Sales Director Michael Irwin detailed the consideration the team has taken to ensure an easy transition for new and current customers.
“The site will facilitate customers to log in and purchase from any of the distributed brands. Current 247lighting customers will be happy to hear they can use their existing trade log-in details to access the new online store,” Micahel said.
Group247 is a natural progression for the company, which has always had a strong distribution element. The new venture creates an umbrella structure for brand supply.
