A unique Transporter designed as a ‘Creative Hub’ office space will be one of the more unusual features of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles stand at the Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC in Birmingham, April 26-28.
The van is one of two developed in conjunction with Startup Direct, a delivery partner of UK government’s Start-Up Loans Scheme that provides up to £25,000 in start-up funding for entrepreneurs wanting to start a business.
The Transporter ‘Creative Hub’ is a mobile office and idea space, complete with grass carpet and woodland to give the perfect ambience for brainstorming and idea generation. A whiteboard, beanbags and funky accessories complete the experience.
The van, along with another high-roof ‘Power Office’, was developed off the back of research carried out by VW and the Centre for Economic and Business Research (CEBR), highlighting the key role that commercial vehicles play in the growth of new and small businesses in the UK.
Commenting on the research, Carl zu Dohna, Director of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, said, “Commercial vehicles play a huge role in start-up and small businesses and we’re proud to supply the future drivers of British business with vehicles that help to deliver their goods and services.”
Anna Elyasova, Regional Manager at Startup Direct, added, “Working with new and small businesses across the UK we are fully aware of the vital role commercial vehicles play in their ability to be able to effectively function and grow. We’re delighted to be teaming up with Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles to offer businesses a creative and new way of supporting and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs.”
