Peugeot van sales have continued to soar, with the lion-brand registering the highest growth amongst the top ten selling light commercial vehicle marques in Ireland year to date. Figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI) indicate that Peugeot van sales increased by 75.7per cent to the end of March 2016, more than twice the substantial van market growth of 33.6 per cent. Peugeot is now the fifth biggest seller of vans in Ireland, with a 5.7 per cent market share.
With payloads ranging from 625kg to 850kg and powered by Peugeot’s efficient 1.6 HDi engine in 75bhp or 92bhp guise, the star-selling Peugeot Partner van has gone from strength to strength, seeing a huge +76 per cent increase in demand in the first quarter of 2016.
The current Expert mid-sized van is now a run-out model, as Peugeot makes way for the new Expert range this summer. Boasting payloads from 1000kg to 1200kg and available with a choice of a 1.6 litre HDi 90bhp or 2.0 litre 128bhp / 163bhp engine, the Expert has witnessed an increase of +66 per cent in sales year to date, with stronger growth expectations for the remainder of 2016, following the launch of the new range.
The load-lugging Peugeot Boxer offers payloads of 1155kg to 1765kg and a choice of a 2.2 litre HDi 110bhp / 130bhp or a 3.0 litre HDi 180bhp engine and has enjoyed a +66 per cent increase.
All Peugeot Partner, Expert and Boxer models are equipped with Bluetooth, full size spare wheel and electric front windows as standard. Three front seats are standard from Partner level two Active models.
Colin Sheridan, Sales and Marketing Director at Gowan Distributors Limited, Peugeot Importers in Ireland said: “The brand’s robust van growth in 2016 is undoubtedly as a result of Peugeot’s attractiveness and competitiveness in the Irish van market. We’re very much looking forward to sustained growth in 2016 with our continued 3.9% APR low-cost finance with minimum 25% deposit, the launch of the newly arrived Peugeot Partner Professional range and the introduction of the excellent new Peugeot Expert range, due in Ireland later this year.”
