No more runaways thanks to Vision Techniques
Vehicle safety experts Vision Techniques will be giving visitors the opportunity to prevent vehicle runaways with an interactive demo on their stand (5D110) at this year’s CV Show.
The event will be one of the first opportunities for attendees to see VT BrakeSafe, the only safety system that automatically applies the vehicle handbrake if a driver forgets to do so when leaving the vehicle.
The new, unique safety system has gained a lot of interest from companies across the UK, so bringing the technology to the CV show is an exciting prospect for the safety experts and an opportunity to demonstrate it to potential new clients.
Sadly, runaway accidents continue to affect freight, construction and waste vehicles across the UK, with existing technology only able to sound an alarm – not prevent a possible accident, making VT BrakeSafe a one-of-a-kind solution.
As well as being the first anti-rollaway system, BrakeSafe will activate even when the vehicle’s ignition is switched off, and is suitable for installation into new vehicles or as a retrofit option.
Helping demonstrate the handbrake system will be technical manager, Nigel Armstrong, developer of the VT BrakeSafe system.
“With the overwhelming interest we’ve had in BrakeSafe over the past six months we’ve realised that runaways are our industries silent danger,” he said. “It’s something people don’t talk about in the hope it won’t affect them. Now, there’s really no excuse because we can prevent it from happening once and for all.”
