60 years in the towbar business

Modern Iron Works Ltd trading as McCabe Towbars will celebrate its 60th year in business next year. The main stay of the business has been the design and manufacture of towbars for the Irish motor industry.

The company has evolved over the years to keep up with the current testing and type approval requirements, and also to keep up with the requirements of its customers.

McCabe Towbars has over 7,500 towbars in stock at any one time, which covers the complete range of cars and LCVs in Ireland and offers a next day delivery nationwide.

The company also added the CRUZ range of Roof Racks in 2008 and now also supplies a range of bicycle carriers that can mount to the rear of your vehicle, whether you have a towbar or not.

One of the most significant changes that has happened to the motor industry in recent times is the introduction of can-bus electrical systems and McCabe Towbars haa ensured that all staff are trained in understanding what is required for each vehicle.

The company has a range of or universal bypass systems and since 2013 hs a large stock of ECS and Westfalia vehicle specific kits which are designed specifically for the individual vehicle.
