Volkswagen consolidates Truck and Bus Division

Volkswagen Truck & Bus GmbH has formed a new Supervisory Board to oversee its medium and heavy duty commercial vehicle business.

The 12-person Supervisory Board will be chaired by Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG. Other Board members are made up of shareholder and employee representatives.

By bringing together large commercial vehicle activities under the roof of Volkswagen Truck & Bus, Volkswagen is echoing the strategy used to integrate its numerous car brands. Whether this is part of a plan to add more commercial vehicle brands to the Volkswagen Truck & Bus portfolio remains to be seen.
