Peugeot celebrates 120 years of LCV production
Peugeot is celebrating 120 years of light commercial vehicle production with the launch of the new Peugeot Partner. Peugeot’s best-selling van is already renowned for its spaciousness, comfort and modularity, a benchmark in its segment since the launch of the first generation in 1996. Three generations later and to meet the increasing needs of business owners and their drivers today, the new Peugeot Partner van benefits from a modern new look, new equipment, lower running costs thanks to reduced consumption and CO2, and a new Partner Professional range. It arrives in Ireland this July and prices are unchanged from the previous generation van, from €15,755 plus delivery, or from €12,846 ex-VAT. A low-cost finance offer at 5.9% APR will also remain on offer for the new model, meaning a customer can drive away in a new Partner from as little as €135 per month.
Now available in Access, Active or Professional level three versions, the front grille of the new Peugeot Partner van now carries the Peugeot lion badge, taking style cues from the elegant new Peugeot 508 and 308 GT range, giving the new Partner range an even more solid, modern look. New inserts in the bumper offer the advantage of being easily replaceable in the event of a scrape or minor accident.
Standard equipment on the new Partner includes full size spare wheel, front electric windows, 12v accessory socket, central locking, ABS, emergency braking assistance, ESP with traction control, Hill Start Assist, auto door locking and driver’s ladder frame protection.
As before, level 2 models have as standard a kerbside side sliding door, electrically adjustable and heated door mirrors and Peugeot’s innovative Multiflex seat; a first when initially introduced, the Multiflex seat allows 3 people to be seated at the front and folds flat to form a mobile office or to allow more carrying capacity. The new Partner Active model gains cruise control with speed limiter as standard.
A new Professional level three model will be available to order from September to include front fog lights, touchscreen radio, rear parking sensors and manual air conditioning as standard. This Professional equipment pack, worth in excess of €1300, represents incredible value for business owners as the actual RRP premium is just €570 or €540 more than the Active level two 1.6 75bhp and 90bhp equivalents.
Options on the new Partner van include Peugeot’s Grip Control.
The stylish new Partner Van continues to offer a cabin that is perfectly adapted to business use; a high driving position gives optimum vision, ergonomic controls are easy to reach, the height and reach adjustable steering wheel is a rarity in the segment and the writing table on the back of the folding backrest of the central seat is particularly useful for business users.
To meet the differing needs of business users, the new Partner van will still be available in two lengths (L1 and L2), offering load volumes that are among the most generous in the segment; 3.3m3 with a load length of 1.80m, rising to 3.7m3 with a load length of 2.05m for an L2 version. The capacity increases further to 4.1m3 and a load length of 3.25m when the Peugeot Multiflex seat is fitted. A load width of 1.62m and 1.23m between wheel arches accommodates 2 Euro pallets in its L1 version. Its asymmetric side-hinged rear doors with 180° opening make loading particularly easy. Payloads range from 625 to 850kg on L1, and up to 750kg on L2, among the best in the category.
The new Partner van will be available at Peugeot Dealers this July.
