CV aligner creates a stir at CV Show

The Hunter wheel alignment system for commercial vehicles, is creating quite a stir on the Pro-Align stand at the CV Show this week.

The Hunter wheel alignment system is the first and only CV alignment system on the market today which is capable of providing live alignment readings on three axles simultaneously. This capability, along with other revolutionary features such as single roll compensation, means that workshops are now able to obtain a full wheel alignment diagnosis in just four minutes.

With such a rapid diagnosis, the system is expected to be used extensively by fleets in their ongoing efforts to maximise fuel efficiency and reduce tyre wear.

“Fuel costs remain the number one priority for most operators and correct wheel alignment is an important factor in helping improve fuel consumption,” explains Brett Hickey, commercial vehicle specialist, Pro-Align. “While many already appreciate the need for properly aligned wheels, current measurement systems often take in excess of 30 minutes or more to obtain the results, meaning that vehicles don’t get checked as regularly as they should. By slashing measurement times, the new Hunter system is much more efficient and usable and therefore offers the potential for substantial cost savings in both fuel and tyres.”

The new Hunter system has been developed utilising its advanced technologies from its established car and LCV alignment systems, along with its extensive experience in the commercial vehicle industry.

The wireless system requires users to simply attach sensors to six of the vehicle’s wheels. Jacking of the vehicle is not required as the important rolling compensation operation is carried out in one short roll of the vehicle, which can be assisted with Hunter’s unique EasiPush. Live readings are transmitted to the system console with results also presented in a clear, easy to understand printable format or electronically by email and online via HunterNet. The efficient operation obtains a full diagnosis in just four minutes with users only having to walk around the vehicle two and a half times.

“Independent tests carried out between two major global tyre and truck manufacturers found that use of the Hunter commercial vehicle alignment system could save fleets as much as two and a half percent just by correcting their alignment. This is a staggering amount and surely an opportunity that no fleets can choose to ignore” concludes Hickey.

The new Hunter commercial vehicle alignment system can be used on trucks, trailers, buses and coaches. To find out more about the system or to arrange a demonstration, call Pro-Align on 01327 323007 or visit www.pro-align.co.uk.
