Autoglass goes mobile

Autoglass, one of Ireland’s leading windscreen glass repair and replacement companies, is launching Ireland’s first wet weather mobile windscreen repair and replacement service.

Autoglass_IRE_eirving_2144+Vanbrella+Field+IRE(1)Given Ireland’s changeable weather, which often features four seasons in one day, consumers may take some convincing that this business model is right for the Irish climate.

The launch will see the company move from a branch based vehicle windscreen repair and replacement model to a 100 per cent mobile technician led model in some regions of the country.

While the move to mobile may suit private consumers, the loss of  depots around the country could be sorely felt by the garage trade, who rely on local outlets for fast and quick repairs. Indeed the branch closures may prove to be a business opportunity for other windscreen suppliers.

Autoglass, says its mobile technicians can now repair and replace windscreens at the customer’s location, rather than requiring the customer to visit an Autoglass branch even in adverse weather conditions, but it remains to be seen if the company will be able to offer the fast and flexible service, that is demanded by the garage trade.
