Scania building next generation of dealerships in the UK

Scania Maidstone will be equipped with a full range of cutting-edge technological and environmental features.

Set to be open 24 hours a day, there will be five drive-through workshop bays and a DVSA Authorised Testing Facility lane. A full Scania parts service will be available on site thanks to the presence of new and used truck sales operations, as well as a Scania Truck Rental outlet.

The dealership will provide jobs for 34 technicians, parts and admin staff, a figure Scania hopes to see rise as it establishes itself in the area.

The site will “have it all”, according to the firm’s South East Director, Adrian Inscoe, “from exceptional working conditions to the very latest specialist tools and diagnostic equipment, to automatic lighting, an in-house recycling station, a sustainable water drainage system and photovoltaic roof panels”.

Construction work has started on the 2.5-acre site situated just off junction 6 of the M20, near to Kent ports and the Channel Tunnel. Scania plans to open the dealership by January next year (2016).
