Iveco remanufacturing offers reduced maintenance costs
veco says that their ‘Reman’ features a large range of original-quality spare parts, for standard exchange in-line with the residual value of the vehicle and its use. Iveco Reman will be available in the Republic of Ireland via the Iveco Dealer Network. The scheme has been put in place to offer specific solutions for vehicle maintenance at every stage of its life, guaranteeing customers a value for money.
Iveco Reman is a specific range of spare parts for which Iveco offers standard exchange terms, which guarantees a part is completely renewed, to its original specifications. These parts, whose quality matches that of a new product, are then covered under the same warranty as the original parts, but cost between 20 to 40% less. With 80% of recycled components, these remanufactured parts also benefit from a reduced environmental impact, allowing a significant decrease in CO2 emissions compared with that of manufacturing new components.
Today, the product range available under Iveco Reman has doubled to encompass more than 1,000 references. In addition to traditional engines and gearboxes, the standard exchange is available for a wide range of turbochargers, alternators, starters, clutches, parts for injection systems, steering pumps, cylinder heads, electronic boxes, particulate filters, brake calipers (for buses) and many others parts. The Iveco Reman range is constantly growing in order to ensure the best possible coverage according to customer requirements.
Iveco Reman not only has a positive impact on price but also on time. Indeed, thanks to its guarantee to meet original part specifications, the use of a Reman product can reduce repair time from between 40 – and 65 per cent, compared to a conventional repair. In addition, a remanufactured product can increase a vehicle’s residual value thanks to the restoration of damaged and worn parts, with reduced downtime and costs.
For example, the price of the maintenance package of the New Stralis Hi-Way using Iveco Reman parts is reduced by 7 per cent, resulting in parallel fuel savings of up to 10% and increasing the vehicle’s residual value by 4 per cent. In this instance, using remanufactured parts improves the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by 4 per cent.
“At the end of 2013, the Reman Dealer Support (DRS) was created. This call centre is designed to answer questions from dealers on the mode of operation of parts’ remanufacturing circuit, the parts available to order, technical alternatives, product features or on the assembly of Iveco Reman parts” says Marco Franza, Marketing Services & Communication, Reman, Business Intelligence & Training Manager CNH Industrial Parts & Service EMEA. He continues: “The Dealer Reman Support is available in all European countries via a dedicated hotline or depending on the country, via the usual technical support centre”.
In 2014, Iveco Reman parts sales recorded an increase of over 60% compared to 2013 figures showing a trend that is likely to be continued as it continues to expand and is increasingly adopted by customers who wish to control theirs costs.
Beyond the benefits to customers, Iveco Reman is part of CNH Industrial Group’s long term commitment to environmental manufacturing. In the remanufacturing process, upgrading components and used-material recycling to the strictest standards leads to a significant reduced amount of waste. Through the remanufacturing cycle, CNH Industrial has reduced its use of raw materials by around 1,200 tons less than levels reached in 2013, in addition to saving energy with a significant decrease in CO2 emissions.
The ‘Value Line’ offer, quality maintenance at a lower cost
With its ‘Value Line’ offer, Iveco has designed a range of reliable spare parts for Iveco Daily S2000 vehicles and older models, aiming to meet the demands of customers who own those vehicles.
Thanks to the partnership between Iveco and Magneti Marelli, the Value Line range today offers a wide range of the most used parts, chosen for their good value for money. Value Line products cost on average 35 per cent less than the original parts.
At the end of 2014, the Value Line range included 250 references including: batteries, belts, engine and cabin air filters, light bulbs, brake pads, spark plugs, wiper blades, water pumps, radiators, windows lifters, hydraulic controls, brake and clutch. This range meets a strong customer demand. As of the end of October 2014, Iveco had almost quadrupled its turnover compared to 2013.
