Bosch Repair Service for Electronic Parts

The Bosch Repair Service for Electronic Parts facilitates workshops with the cost-efficient reconditioning of vehicles with faulty electronic components.

Alongside the option of a traditional repair or the installation of a new part, workshops can now also get hold of a reconditioned part within 24 hours. This new option keeps waiting times down for the end customer and also provides a cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new product because repaired parts can be up to two thirds cheaper. Despite these cost savings, reconditioned products meet the same quality standards as new parts.

In the past, the failure of an electronic component in a car often resulted in high costs for the customer, because the faulty component had to be replaced with a new part. In other cases, the vehicle would have to remain in the workshop for a prolonged period because the faulty part had to be removed and sent off for repair.

The award-winning offering by Bosch now provides a third option that is faster than the alternatives by replacing faulty parts with low-cost “remanufactured products”. The original faulty part, which is sent to Bosch only after the replacement has been fitted in the vehicle, is carefully processed, quality checked and fed back into the remanufacturing line.

INA GearBOX

Garages can now fix damaged transmissions by themselves – professionally, swiftly and profitably

Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket has developed professional repair solutions for passenger-car manual transmissions: With every transmission specific INA GearBOX, garages can repair damaged transmissions in-house.

The benefit: Garages no longer have to outsource manual transmission repairs to a third party, which saves time and is also profitable. Even internal transmission specialists in the garage can profit by using it, because INA GearBOX repair solutions eliminate the extremely time-consuming research for transmission specific wear parts.

Each INA GearBOX is developed for a specified transmission type. It contains all necessary components for a professional transmission repair in OE quality.

Besides all wear parts – like gaskets, o-rings, shaft seals and main bearings inside the transmission – the repair solution contains those components to fix the most common transmission failure.

Automotive Tools Category

Texa Augmented Reality Glasses

Texa Augmented Reality Glasses enable technicians to see all the information needed for a repair by projecting it in front of their eyes while they are working on the vehicle.

Mechanics often have to constantly look at the diagnostic tool while repairing a vehicle and this is particularly annoying when working in cramped spaces.

Thanks to Texa’s new glasses, technicians can work on vehicle components without having to look away from the diagnostic tool, as all the data is projected directly into the glasses which also respond to voice commands.

Furthermore, the use of glasses and the safety information that can be acquired thanks to the augmented reality decrease the risk of dangerous operations, because each critical point is highlighted by signals that appear right in front of the mechanic’s eyes.

Truck Minder TM3

Truck Minder TM3 is an innovative, Thatcham quality assured security alarm system.

The TM3 has been developed in conjunction with the haulage and fleet industry to help protect a vehicle’s fuel load at all times. TruckMinder has been working with a leading fleet operator, with the system currently in the field being tested and scrutinised.

To ensure the attacks are recorded TruckMinder have also been working with leading telematics providers. The device has be engineered to connect to the telematics to create an event notification. Event notifications are provided either via email or text message to the relevant fleet directors / owners.

The secret of what makes the TM3 system the leading alarm system in the market lies within the unique Truckminder technology.

A sensor constantly monitors the vehicle’s fuel cap and tank, two microcontrollers continually communicating with each other creating a ‘heartbeat’ signal. When the signal is broken the vehicle knows an attack is taking place

Tyres

Bridgestone has developed its ologic technology for the revolutionary i3 electric vehicle, aiming for a future with sustainable mobility.

The technology goes hand in hand with the global need to reduce CO2 emissions and increase the safety of the road transportation system. Through both larger tyre diameter and narrower tread width, this unique technology keeps dry and wet traction and handling performance comparable to standard passenger car tires, while reducing rolling resistance.

Bridgestone’s ologic technology exploits the fact that a larger tyre diameter with higher belt tension reduces tyre deformation during driving, thereby conserving energy that is otherwise lost through internal friction. This helps reduce rolling resistance and extend the battery autonomy – one of the main critical factors for an electric vehicle.

The narrow tread concept also improves aerodynamics. With Bridgestone’s revolutionary ologic tread and compound technology, these improvements are achieved without compromising grip in wet or dry conditions.
