New DAF XF Euro 6 is ‘Fleet Truck of the Year 2014’
The new DAF XF Euro 6 has triumphed over its rivals to be named ‘Fleet Truck of the Year 2014’ by a panel of 12 experts in Ireland’s prestigious, annual Export & Freight Transport & Logistics Awards which were announced in Belfast last week.
The judges from Ireland’s transport and logistic industry gave the DAF XF the top honours thanks to its performance, reliability, driver safety and comfort, fuel efficiency and the aftersales support from the DAF dealer network.
In particular, the judges said that the new DAF XF ‘sets the benchmark in terms of efficiency’ and praised it for its low kerbweight and thus high payload. Inside, the new interior also received glowing praise from the judges who said that the new DAF XF introduced a new level of driver comfort with the biggest cab available to work and live in, as well as maximum safety for the driver and other road users.
Collecting the award, Ray Ashworth, Managing Director of DAF Trucks said: “This award is great recognition for the new XF, which I am pleased to say is performing exceptionally well for transport companies based in Northern Ireland who are notoriously demanding and usually involved in long distance and international transport where space, driver comfort, reliability and, above all, fuel economy are the most important buying criteria.”
The new DAF XF Euro 6 range is designed for long distance road transport with a choice of the latest state-of-the-art 12.9 litre PACCAR MX-13 or 10.8 litre PACCAR MX-11 engines, and is easily distinguished by its all-new exterior and new interior.
