Electronic Stability Control on Citroën LCV models

Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is now standard specification on all Citroën Nemo, Berlingo and Dispatch LCVs produced from 1 July 2014.

With the recent launch of the New Relay, the entire Citroën LCV range now has ESC as standard. In addition to fitting ESC, the Nemo, Berlingo and Dispatch LCVs produced from July 1 also benefit from further specification improvements.

ESC uses steering angle data and other information from the vehicle to detect if the vehicle is about to travel in a different direction to that indicated by the steering wheel position. ESC then automatically reduces engine power and brakes the appropriate wheel to help the driver maintain control.

In addition to the standard fitment of ESC, the following changes have also been introduced;

Nemo:  As a result of this equipment addition, the price of all Nemo vans has increased by €80 excluding VAT.

Berlingo: In addition to ESC, all Berlingo vans, crew vans and platform cabs will be fitted with Hill Start Assist. The price of all Berlingo LCVs – except the Berlingo ETG6 where ESC was already standard – has increased by €80 excluding VAT.

Dispatch: Concurrent with the fitting of ESC as standard on all Dispatch LCVs, the Dispatch HDi 90 manual L1H1 1000 Panel Van move from 15-inch wheels and rear drum brakes, to 16-inch wheels and rear disc brakes. In addition, cruise control with driver programmable speed limiter becomes standard on all Dispatch panel vans, crew vans and platform cabs.

Frédéric Soulier, Managing Director, Citroën Motors Ireland, commented; “Citroën continues to improve the specification of its award-winning LCV range. These latest changes to the Nemo, Berlingo and Dispatch, together with the recently launched New Relay, will further enhance the competitive positioning of our LCV range and will significantly benefit fleet and business customers here in Ireland.”
