Mercedes-Benz backs Bumbleance mega push

Mercedes-Benz will be adding its weight to the forthcoming Bumbleance Mega Push – described as a spectacular and challenging fundraiser that will see the distinctively illustrated Mercedes-Benz-powered children’s ambulance pushed all the way from Dingle to Dublin.

Spearheading the venture is Tony Heffernan, the powerhouse behind The Saoirse Foundation and Bumbleance – the world’s first interactive children’s ambulance service established to provide free transport for children from all over Ireland to and from children’s hospitals, respite, treatment centres and hospices. Fronting the project with him is well-known Kerryman and fellow Dingle resident, ice explorer and adventurer Mike O’Shea.

The aptly named Bumbleance Mega Push will see a special Bumbleance vehicle being pushed from Dingle to Dublin, a distance of 355 kilometres along a route that will take it over the Conor Pass and onwards on a 9 – 10 days push through the towns and villages of Camp, Castleisland, Templeglantine, Adare, Birdhill, Moneygall, Mountrath, Monasterevin and Kill, finishing in St Stephen’s Green on 20th September.
