Dayco expands team

Dayco Aftermarket has appointed Glen Goldstone as its technical manager for the UK and Ireland to work alongside national sales manager, Steve Carolan and area sales manager, Mark Barnett in order to support the brand’s growing number of distribution partners.

Dayco Glen 004Although from outside the aftermarket, Glen brings with him a formidable arsenal of engineering knowledge and experience from the forklift, heavy plant and equipment industries, where he was a senior engineer running three workshops and responsible for 25 engineers who were servicing and repairing heavy plant and dockside equipment. In addition to his maintenance related functions, Glen’s duties included parts orders and processing, handling warranty claims and technical matters arising within the dockyard environment.

“Glen is a high calibre engineer with huge experience across a number of industrial sectors,” said Steve, “and his credentials mean that he’ll be a great asset to the Dayco team.

“As a growing brand in the UK aftermarket, we need to have a technical manager with the skills and understanding to work with our customers and help them with training issues, installation queries and the overall warranty process.

“Glen has a proven track record across a number of disciplines and has the knowledge and experience that will help us to provide the support our existing customers need, which in turn will allow us to continue to maintain the growth of the brand we are currently enjoying.”

Commenting on his appointment, Glen added: “Although it’s always a little daunting to come out of your comfort zone, I‘m really excited about the opportunities and the challenges that this role encompasses. I enjoy working with people and helping them to resolve their difficulties and so the training responsibilities that form a big part of my brief is an area I’m really looking forward to developing.

“We have a number of important distribution partners and working with them and liaising with their customers to identify how we can improve processes, provide more technical information and therefore sidestep avoidable complications, is also an interesting and challenging part of the overall process.”
