TTC says be safe be seen

The road transport industry in the UK has come under heavy criticism in the mainstream media and on social media platforms for not doing enough to save lives, following a a spate of accidents, injuries and deaths on roads, many of them involving trucks and cyclists.

hi-vis-cyclist-1Since the 1970s the annual Be Safe Be Seen campaigns have urged pedestrians and cyclists of all ages to brighten up as the winter evenings get darker. Some do and some don’t but it’s no good wearing a bright “Hi-Vis” jacket and then riding into the blind-spot of a 40 tonne artic.

R&D engineers in the trucking industry have been working on this problem for years and have created brilliant safety products. Unfortunately not all operators use them and the media and general public as a whole does not seem to know about them.

As the major parts supplier to the commercial vehicle industry, TTC has a very important part to play in saving lives. The TTC portfolio of safety products includes reversing cameras, blind spot mirrors, bleepers and the Lexguard blind spot warning system.

Over the coming weeks we will be highlighting some of the specific safety products offered by TTC going through the main features and explaining how they work.

TTC Parts and the road transport industry as a whole does take safety seriously, so let’s let the rest of the world know about it.
