BYD electric bus scoops award

BYD’s innovative ebus has been given a coveted award by the European Coach and Bus Week (ECW), held today immediately before Busworld 2013 that opens in Kortrijt, Belgum, tomorrow (October 18).

The pure electric BYD ebus has been granted the Ecology Label awarded by the ECW panel of expert judges to the best in category exhibit at Busworld which demonstrates outstanding ecological credentials. Other ECW Labels recognise Safety, Comfort and Ergonomics and Styling and Design.

The ECW Labels are a new initiative to underline the tremendous strides the bus and coach industry is making in developing new and innovative products. It is a significant honour for BYD, making only its second Busworld appearance, to be recognised in this way.

“Being awarded the ECW Ecology Label on the eve of Busworld will really boost our profile at the event, the largest bus show in the world. We know the organisers will be making every effort to publicise the Labels around the globe,” said Yong Ping Chen, BYD Auto Europe Deputy Managing Director.
